There is no place like Hillcrest for the Holidays!

Holidays in Hillcrest will kick off on November 12, 2011 with shops offering sales and Christmas treats to enjoy. Music and sidewalk "happenings" will be scattered throughout the business district. Neighborhood restaurants will be serving up special meals to keep you going all day and to help you wind down at supper. Later that evening some merchants will remain open for late shoppers but the action will be focused on the Kavanugh art scene, when Gallery 26 hosts its annual show. At every shop you visit, make sure to put your name in the RED BOXES, for a chance to win a $1000 gift basket which Santa will award at the Christmas Tree Lighting. The Lighting will occur this year on Friday December 2 at 5:30 pm on the Allsopp Park Promenade. Hot cocoa, cider and homemade cookies will be available while the local students serenade. Santa and friends will welcome all the neighbors and guests, award the winners of the gift baskets and stay to hear the wish lists of good boys and girls.

The First Thursday in December (Dec 1) provides another opportunity to shop and sip while enjoying street music after dark. The RED BOXES will be available until the 26th of November. The more businesses you visit the more chances you have to win. Hillcrest merchants are Santa's official helpers who can assist you in pleasing EVERYONE on your list. With unique home décor, festive fashions, culinary delights or gift certificates for special services, you can fulfill the dreams of your loved ones without fighting the traffic and crowds.

While you are spoiling your family and friends, consider treating yourself at one of the health care providers, spas or salons. Pamper your palate by picking up party foods or drinks from Hillcrest shops and caterers or consider a holiday meal or appetizers out on the town. Whether it's cheering your favorite team or relaxing in soft candlelight, there is a place to suit your pace.

Don't forget the Reason for the Season. All the churches of Hillcrest welcome guests for quiet contemplation or congregational jubilation. All the churches, personal services, shops and restaurants are listed on this website under their separate headings. Please link to the individual websites for details.

Finally, our realtors and bankers would be happy to help you make Hillcrest your permanent home. We would love to have you as a neighbor. So come for a day or come to stay but join us here for the happiest of holidays.
